Visit the oldest Port Wine house in Portugal, during your stopover in Porto. There are several visiting options available, namely:

All visits include a 40-year-old Royal Oporto wine tasting. 

Discover the Cellars of Real Companhia Velha, in Vila Nova de Gaia and taste the history of the most refined wine tradition in the Douro. The cellars store a wide selection of Tawny Port wines - aged in oak casks - as well as the family's private collection with over 16,000 bottles of rare Vintage Port Wines. The oldest bottle dates back to 1765, thus maintaining the prestige and tradition that Real Companhia Velha has enjoyed for over 260 years.

Classic Tour

Includes a video projection about the history of the cellars and the process of making Port wine, from the Douro to Gaia. The visit goes through the main aging warehouse, the Vintage Museum, and ends at the store, with a tasting of 4 Port wines - Dry White or Lágrima, Ruby or Tawny, Porto Rosé and a 10-Year-Old Tawny. It is accompanied by dried fruits.

Premium Tour

Includes a video projection about the history of the cellars and the process of making Port wine, from the Douro to Gaia. The visit goes through the main aging warehouse, the Vintage Museum and ends at the store with a tasting that includes white Port Wine, Late Bottled Vintage, Carvalhas Reserva Tawny and an Old 20-Year-Old Tawny. It is accompanied by dried fruits.

Founders Visit

Includes a video projection about the history of the cellars and the process of making Port wine, from the Douro to Gaia. The visit goes through the main aging warehouse, the Vintage Museum, and ends at the store with a tasting, which includes white Port Wine and a selection of Old Tawnies - 10, 20 and 40 years old. It is accompanied by dried fruits and a selection of cheeses.

Duration: 1 and a half hours

Price (adults): 35 €

Harvest Tour

Includes a video projection about the history of the cellars and the process of making Port wine, from the Douro to Gaia. The visit goes through the main aging warehouse, the Vintage Museum, ending in the historic basement wing. Tasting of a selection of 4 old Colheita Port wines, accompanied by dried fruits and a selection of cheeses. 

Duration: 2 hours

Price (adults): 60 €

Memories Tour

Includes a video projection about the history of the cellars and the process of making Port wine, from the Douro to Gaia. The visit goes through the main aging warehouse, the Vintage Museum, ending in the historic basement wing. Tasting of a selection of 4 dated Port Wines and the historic Carvalhas Memories (1867). Accompanied by dried fruits and a selection of cheeses.

Other times on request.
On January 1 and December 25 there are no tours.

The store has all the ranges of Real Companhia Velha available.

There's the possibility of delivering wines to the hotel, provided it is located in Porto or Vila Nova de Gaia, or to send it by mail (see the prices in the store).
