Baggage is carried in the hold for free on all flights except for tap|discount. If so, please be advised that you may purchase this service in the next step.
If you are traveling with checked luggage and have a connecting flight in Brazil, the United States or Canada, be sure to collect your luggage for customs control in these countries. Then follow the directions and go to the luggage transfer point.
Refunds
If your travel plans change, you can quickly and easily request a refund for your tickets on the TAP refunds page.
Refunds will be processed according to the corresponding fare rules, which can be found here.
You can request a refund for any fare that allows you do to so. Depending on the rules of the purchased fare, a refund penalty may apply, which will be deducted from the ticket amount.
Refund rules may vary depending on the market where the ticket has been issued.
If the refund is requested via flyTAP, no refund fee will be charged. If the refund is requested via our Contact Center or a sales desk, you will be charged a refund processing fee of 30 EUR (40 USD or 50 CAD)* for each ticket, regardless of the cost of your TAP product.
* For tickets issued in a different currency, the amount will be converted according to the exchange rate on the day of the request.
If your flight has been canceled by TAP, you may request a full refund of the amount you have paid:
- as a voucher with a 10% bonus; or
- to the original payment method (no bonus).
Refunds within the first 24 hours
Regardless of the fare you have purchased, any refunds requested within 24 hours of the completion of the booking (including via flyTAP) will be subject to a refund processing fee of 30 EUR (for continental flights) or 45 EUR (for intercontinental flights).
Refunds will be processed as vouchers, deducting the aforementioned fee amount.
These vouchers are non-refundable and must be redeemed within one year on the purchase of TAP tickets.
If the refund is requested within 24 hours of the completion of the booking, but after the departure of the original flight (no-show), the corresponding fare rules will apply instead of this rate.
