More space in Economy Class

Make your bid and enjoy greater comfort in Economy Class, by choosing one of the following options:

A seat in the Comfort Area (seats with more leg room, located in the first rows of Economy Class),
A seat in the front row or at the emergency exit (Extra Legroom).

You can place your bid:

How to participate in the auction

1 - Check your flight availability

Check if my flight is eligible (bid up to 36h prior to the flight or up to 24h for flights to / from the USA).
Check if my flight is eligible (bidding in the last 24h before the flight for all flights).

2 - Place your bid

Bid the amount you want to pay to travel in Business Class, using your credit card or your miles (1) from the TAP Miles&Go Programme.

Place a bid (bid up to 36 hours before the flight or up to 24 hours prior for flights to / from the USA),
Place a bid (bid in the last 24 hours before the flight for all flights).

(1) If you choose to bid in the last 24 hours before the flight, payment is only available via credit card.

3 - Watch for confirmation

Enter the amount you would like to bid, using your credit card or TAP Miles&Go Programme miles (1), so you can have your preferred seat on board. Simply place your bid and wait for:

you will receive a confirmation email (if you choose to bid up to 36h before the flight or up to 24h prior for flights to / from the USA) or
a message in the bidding application (if you choose to bid in the last 24h before any flight). If the amount is not accepted, you will not be charged anything and the conditions of your original ticket will remain in place.

(1) Payment with miles is only available for bids placed up to 36 hours before the flight (or up to 24 hours before a flight to / from the USA).

Terms and Conditions

Some tickets may not be eligible for auction due to restrictions related to special needs seating, seat availability, ticket type, routes, group bookings, and other TAP policies. These restrictions ensure compliance with the law and ensure adequate seating for all passengers;
Bids placed using a credit card will be charged to the card provided at the time of bidding;
Bids made in miles will be debited from the account of the passenger whose name appears in the greeting on the bidding page;
The amount paid for the Upgrade (with credit card or miles from the TAP Miles&Go Programme) is non-refundable, as are the paid services that are associated with the booking. If you cancel your Check-in, the Upgrade will also be canceled;
To complete the bid with TAP Miles&Go miles, make sure your account has enough miles to do so. Otherwise, the bid will be denied;
This auction is not applicable to group bookings, trips with babies, and some special services;
If you have a booking with more segments and you made a bid to Upgrade one of them, the associated benefits only apply to the segment for which you placed the bid;
If your booking contains more than one passenger and you wish to make an individual bid, you must contact TAP Air Portugal or your Travel Agency;
This service is available on flights operated by TAP or on its behalf, and on flights operated by TAP Express.
If you placed a bid up to 36 hours before your flight (or up to 24 hours before flights to / from the US) and won the auction, you can enjoy extra baggage allowance, Fast Track, Lounge access, Premium Boarding and all associated onboard benefits.
If you placed a bid within the last 24h before your flight and win, you can enjoy Premium Boarding and most inflight benefits. However, Lounge access, Fast Track, and extra baggage are not included.
In case of Upgrade, earning TAP Miles&Go miles is based on the Class and fare initially reserved.
Business Class meals may not be available for Upgrades awarded within the last 24h before the flight. In these cases, Economy Class meal will be served on long-haul flights, and on domestic or medium-haul flights, you can choose up to 3 items from the inflight sales service.
