TAP expresses its solidarity with Venezuela, with Venezuelans, with the entire Portuguese community residing in that country, and with all those affected by the tragic events, expressing its regret for all the victims.
With regard to its operation to Caracas, TAP informs all Customers with tickets issued until June 24, for flights to and from the Venezuelan capital to be carried out until October 31 2026, that they can change their travel dates here for flights to be carried out within the validity of the tickets they hold.

Due to the Ebola outbreak, several countries have implemented entry restrictions and/or enhanced health screening measures for travelers who have recently visited the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has approved new global safety rules limiting passengers to two lithium‑battery power banks and prohibiting their recharging on board, in response to emerging aviation safety risks. The new measures entered into force on 27 March 2026 and apply worldwide — read more here.
Their carriage is strictly prohibited as hold baggage, and is only permitted in the cabin, where they must be stowed under the seat in front or in the corresponding bags.
Due to space limitations on our aircrafts, during certain times of the year, purchase of extra baggage transportation is restricted on trips:
With destination to Accra, Banjul*, Bissau*, Dakar*, São Tomé and Príncipe, Praia* and São Vicente*:
- Summer – from 6 June 2026 to 6 September 2026;- Christmas/New Year – from 5 December 2026 to 4 January 2027;- Easter – from 12 March 2027 to 28 March 2027.
From Accra:
- Summer – from 6 June 2026 to 6 September 2026;- Christmas/New Year – from 25 December 2026 to 4 January 2027;- Easter – from 29 March 2027 to 4 April 2027.
*Note: For the final destination Banjul, the embargo only applies during the Christmas / New Year period.For the final destination Bissau, the embargo during the summer period will be extended until September 25, 2026 and during the Christmas / New Year period will be brought forward to November 1, 2026.For the final destination Dakar, the embargo during the summer period will be brought forward to May 9, 2026.For the final destinations Praia and São Vicente, the embargo during the summer period will start on June 22, 2026 and will end on August 9, 2026.
On flights to Accra, Banjul, Bissau, Dakar, São Tomé and Príncipe, Praia and São Vicente, and originating in Accra, excess hold baggage will not be permitted beyond what is indicated in the purchased fare. The maximum weight allowed is 23 kg / 50 lbs or 32 kg / 70 lbs, depending on the fare, and the maximum size allowed is 158 cm / 62 in (sum of the three dimensions: height, width and length).
This restriction applies to all fares, regardless of the type of product purchased or Frequent Passenger status, with the exception of the Discount fare, in which it will be possible to add one piece of hold baggage, within the weight and dimensions of hold baggage allowed by TAP. Hold baggage exceeding these limits will not be accepted, nor will any type of special baggage, including sports equipment, animals in the hold, weapons and ammunition, or musical instruments.

TAP informs that some Customers are receiving fraudulent notifications via email, stating that they are entitled to receive compensation due to a delayed flight. This notification redirects to a link that is a fraud scheme. We advise our Customers who receive this message to delete it without clicking on the link.
TAP Air Portugal's commercial relationship with Optiontown ended on 21 July 2026. As a result, Optiontown is no longer authorized to market, sell, or issue travel passes related to TAP services.
TAP will not accept any travel pass, voucher, or benefit that was not validly issued and fully paid for under the arrangements in place before 21 July 2026, or that was sold without TAP's authorization.
