TAP informs that this Sunday, May 29, a plenary meeting of staff from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) is scheduled to take place at Lisbon airport between 06:00 and 09:00 AM.
The situation, which TAP has no control over, may cause constraints and longer waiting times at border control and may cause disruptions and delays in airline operations.
TAP is taking all measures to mitigate the effect of this action on its passengers with flights this Sunday, who are requested to go to the airport well in advance of their flight departure time.
All passengers over the age of 12, with Continental Portugal as a final destination or in transit, must present:

- Saudi Arabia
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
Please be informed that mainland Portugal accepts the following vaccines:
- Vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency - Comirnaty (BioNTech and Pfizer), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca), COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen (https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/human-regulatory/overview/public-health-threats/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/treatments-vaccines/covid-19-vaccines) – and,
- Sinopharm (Vero Cell), Sinovac (Coronavac), Bharat Biotech International (Covaxin).
The vaccination schedule is considered complete after taking:
a) From a single-dose vaccine, for vaccines with a one-dose vaccine schedule;
b) The second dose of a vaccine against COVID-19 with a two-dose vaccine schedule, even if doses of two different vaccines have been administered; or
c) A single dose of a vaccine against COVID -19 with a two-dose vaccination schedule for people who have recovered from the disease, if it is indicated in the vaccination certificate that the vaccination schedule was completed after administration of one dose.
The vaccination schedule is complete 14 days after the last dose has been taken, and it’s valid for 270 days.
The vaccination certificates that don’t comply with these criteria, are not accepted.
Passengers who do not comply with the presentation of required documents will not be allowed to board.

For some destinations it is mandatory that passengers complete an online form, prior to the flight, proof of which will need to be presented at control points upon arrival, verify below if this is needed in your case. For destinations that do not have an online form, passengers will be requested to fill out a form during the flight.
It is the passenger’s responsibility to comply with all government policies and entry requirements, for example the need to fill out forms and/or Covid-19 testing. Failure to do so may result in denied boarding for the flight or entry to the destination.
Please be aware that there are specific procedures for some destinations that can be verified here. Always confirm information with official government agencies to ensure you are able to reach your destination.
Symptomatic passengers identified at the airport by public health authorities may be refused to continue their journey.
NOTE - For journeys to the USA or Canada it is mandatory that passengers have received two doses of a vaccine against COVID-19 (or one dose of the Jensen vaccine). If the passenger has only a recuperation certificate or has only received one dose the vaccine, it is not equivalent to full vaccination.
NOTE: For journeys to Brazil passengers with the exception to present a vaccination certificate because they are considered ineligible for vaccination, medical certificates must be provided for TAP’s medical consideration following the MEDIF procedures.
The following are necessary, in these cases:
- Signed and stamped MEDIF form, complete with a description of diagnosis by the passenger’s doctor. The form can be obtained here (PDF, 0.1MB, EN).
- Request the special assistance by sending the completed form by FAX to (+351) 21 841 5880 or by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org (this email address is only for matters related with MEDIF; all messages on other issues will be disregarded).
This request must be made as far in advance as possible and the proper authorization must be included in the reservation.
- Travelling to Accra, Bissau*, Conakry*, Dakar*, Praia, Sao Vicente and Sao Tome:
- Easter - from 1 April 2022 to 17 April 2022
- Summer – from 11 June 2022 to 11 September 2022*
- Christmas – from 10 December 2022 to 8 January 2023*
- Departing from Accra and Conakry*:
- Easter – from 18 April 2022 to 25 April 2022
- Summer – from 11 June 2022 to 11 September 2022*
- New Year’s – from 26 December 2022 to 9 January 2023
Final destination Conakry, the summer period will run from July 10, 2022, to August 8, 2022, while the Christmas period will run from December 16, 2022, to December 30, 2022.
Final destination Dakar, the summer period should only be considered from June 24, 2022 to September 30, 2022.
Conakry departure point, the summer period will run from July 30, 2022, to September 6, 2022, while the New Year period will run from December 31, 2022, to January 9, 2023.
The trips whose destination is Accra, Bissau, Conakry, Dakar, Praia, São Tomé and São Vicente and whose origin is Accra and Conakry will not allow excess baggage (weight and / or dimensions) on the allowance associated with the fare, the purchase of extra baggage, nor the transportation of animals, sports equipment or musical instruments dispatched to the hold. The number of pieces accepted will be in accordance to what is indicated on the ticket and, for each piece, the sum of the three dimensions (height + length + width) cannot exceed 158cm, with a maximum weight of 23kg, in Economy and 32kg, in Executive class.
This restriction is applied to all tickets, regardless of the product that is acquired or the Passenger’s Frequent Flyer status, with the exception of tap|discount tickets, where it is possible to add the transport of one piece of baggage.
We present our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that this situation may cause.
Use of a face mask is mandatory on board all TAP flights. Therefore, all our passengers, aged over 6, must be equipped with one and guarantee that it is used during the entire duration of the journey.
The use of a face mask will only be exempted for passengers who are proven to have health problems that cannot use it. In these cases, prior to the flight and in order to travel, the passenger must have a medical authorization (MEDIF). Otherwise, boarding will be denied.
We also advise our passengers to inform themselves on specific regulations that may exist at their points of origin and destination, for example that fact that it is already compulsory at many airports to wear a face mask.
The total net quantity of all such articles carried by each passenger must not exceed 2 kg or 2 L and the net quantity of each single article must not exceed 0.5 kg or 0.5 L.
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is acceptable as carry-on or checked baggage. However, it should be noted that where passengers wish to have the hand sanitizer in their carry-on baggage that the limit of 100 mL or equivalent per item for liquids and gels in accordance with the aviation security provisions applies (if no local exemption has been defined by the Competent Authorities).
Please bear in mind that such articles shall not be used on any aircraft equipment or surfaces, as they have not been approved by the Aircraft Manufacturer.
